THE GREAT HALL

Hartford's Great Hall at Union Station is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Great Hall is a two-story room and features the original wooden benches which still exist today in the space. Stately staircases, and immense windows add to the charm of the space. Bear’s Restaurant Group holds exclusive booking rights on this space which is perfect for larger corporate and networking events, receptions, cocktail parties and family milestone events such as weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs.

The Great Hall will sit approximately 300 guests for a plated sit-down dinner.  200 guests with limited seating and buffet stations. 600+ guests for a standing room only cocktail reception or concert.  Capacities are subject to change based on the setup requirements of your event. All event layouts are required to be submitted to the fire marshal for approval in advance to adhere with evacuation procedures.

In addition to food and beverage costs, a room rental fee will apply along with a service fee for staffing.

Security is required to close the space to the public and will be included in the rental contract.  A rental contract for the Great Hall will be provided with all associated costs listed.

THE TEQUILA ROOM

The Tequila Room is a private dining and event space located at Chango Rosa, One Union Place, Hartford. It features a fusion of Latin comfort food drawing inspiration from our famous smoked meats from Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ.  This location is perfect for corporate and networking events, receptions, cocktail parties and family milestone events such as baby/bridal showers or rehearsal dinners.

The Tequila Room will sit 50 guests for a plated sit-down dinner.  35 guests with seating and a buffet station. 60+ guests for a standing room only cocktail reception.  Adjacent spaces can be utilized for larger capacities.

In addition to food and beverage costs, a room rental fee will apply along with a service fee for staffing. A rental contract will be provided with all associated costs listed.

OUR POLICIES

MENUS

Our menu options will provide a wide variety of selections and cuisine styles for your event. Custom menus also can be designed with our talented in-house chef. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.

BAR SERVICE

We offer a variety of bar packages based on an hourly per person charge. Our onsite mixologist can create a signature drink for your special occasion to add to any bar package.  

 

EVENT CUSOMIZATIONS

The Great Hall is a raw space and therefore completely customizable. It requires rentals such as tables, chairs and linen. Referrals for rental companies and other special requests can be provided.

The Tequila Room provides standard linens, centerpieces and votive candles at no charge. For additional fees, you can customize with upgraded linen selections or other items you may require.

AUDIO VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

A production company must be hired should there be any sound, projection or staging required.  Referrals for production companies and any other special requests can be provided to you.

 

OUTSIDE FOOD

Health department regulations require that all food consumed on premises must be prepared on-site, therefore no outside food is allowed at events hosted by Bear’s Restaurant Group. We are happy to discuss specialty options for your event.  

DEPOSITS

A deposit is required, along with a signed contract, to confirm the date and space for your event.  Cancellation policies will be listed on the event contract.

 

GRATUITY

A service fee will be included in the rental contract. The service fee will be 18% or a fixed fee based on the subtotal of the food.
